Mr Salles is currently the WPR Team Leader at Cisco and is in charge of addressing the distinct set of needs from various departments that include engineering, sales, call center and general administration.  

Prior to joining CISCO, Mr Salles was the Workplace strategy and Systems Manager at eBay in charge of reviewing the global real estate portfolio and headcount data for 4 million sqft of class A office spaces. 

Mr. Salles holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical engineering from the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of California, Irvine, and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Paul Merage School of Business.

036 – Dr. Vijay Gurbaxani – Founding Director, Center for Digital Transformation, Taco Bell Professor of Information Systems at UCI Paul Merage School of Business

Dr. Vijay Gurbaxani is the Taco Bell Professor of Information Systems and Computer Science and Director of the Center for Digital Transformation (CDT) at the UCI Paul Merage School of Business. His research, teaching and consulting interests are at the nexus of business strategy and information technology (IT). He focuses on analyzing how emerging information technologies enable business model innovation; on developing and evaluating business-driven strategies for the sourcing of information services; and on valuing IT investment.

Dr. Gurbaxani has extensive experience in management education and advisory services, having lectured worldwide on management issues, taught extensively in degree and executive education programs, and consulted for and provided research expertise to many organizations, including Fortune 500 companies, technology service providers, and leading consulting firms. He has been a visiting scholar at the business schools at Stanford University and at MIT.

029 – Change Agents – Dr. Marc Madou – Chancellor’s Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the UCI Samueli School of Engineering

Dr. Marc Madou is the Chancellor’s Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Chancellor’s Professor (Joint Appointment) of Biomedical Engineering and Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the Henry Samueli School of Engineering at University of California, Irvine. Dr Madou has a PH.D. in Semiconductor Electrochemistry, Solid-State Physics Laboratory and a M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Physical Chemistry from the Rijksuniversiteit in Belgium. His research focuses on Miniaturization science (MEMS and NEMS) with emphasis on chemical and biological applications. Current projects include polymer actuators (for drug delivery), C-MEMS and CD based fluidics. Besides miniaturization techniques and materials choices.

Dr. Madou will talk about his journey to be appointed Chancellor’s Professor at the University of California, Irvine and the science of miniaturization.
