Dr. Marc Madou is the Chancellor’s Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Chancellor’s Professor (Joint Appointment) of Biomedical Engineering and Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the Henry Samueli School of Engineering at University of California, Irvine. Dr Madou has a PH.D. in Semiconductor Electrochemistry, Solid-State Physics Laboratory and a M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Physical Chemistry from the Rijksuniversiteit in Belgium. His research focuses on Miniaturization science (MEMS and NEMS) with emphasis on chemical and biological applications. Current projects include polymer actuators (for drug delivery), C-MEMS and CD based fluidics. Besides miniaturization techniques and materials choices.
Dr. Madou will talk about his journey to be appointed Chancellor’s Professor at the University of California, Irvine and the science of miniaturization.
